Specialising in language use, stylistics and literary presentation, I read literature in five languages: English, French, German, Kiswahili and Kikamba. I am currently learning Chinese. Areas of interest, which I teach at the post-graduate level, include
Literary Language and Scholarly Presentation, Postcolonial discourses, East African literature, European literature and North-American literature.
I also have an interest in journalistic creative writing. Two of my short pieces have been aired on the BBC Network Africa radio programme, and I have contributed regularly to the Carleton University Magazine and the Vineyard magazine (St. Paul’s University Chapel); these pieces of writing are captured on this blog
